Cero Mackerel
Scientific name: Scomberomorous regalis

Appearance:
The cero mackerel has a silver side with yellowish spots above and below the longitudinal stripe from the pectoral fin to the base of the tail. Its back is bluish green. The dorsal fin is bluish black in the anterior portion. The lateral line descends gradually from the shoulder to the base of the caudal fin.

Habitat:
Cero mackerel, though usually solitary, occasionally form schools nearshore and offshore. They inhabit coral reefs and wrecks.

Florida locations:
The fish is common in the Florida Keys and is rare north of Palm Beach.
