Bluefish
Scientific name: Pomatomus saltatrix
Appearance:
Bluefish has a greenish blue back, silvery sides, and large mouth with sharp teeth. Spiny dorsal and pectoral fins are folded back in a groove.
Habitat:
Juvenile bluefish are inshore in spring and summer, then migrate offshore to join the adults in fall and winter.
Florida locations:
A large number migrate to Florida east coast (inshore and continental shelf waters) in winter.
