Appearance:
The lesser amberjack has an olive green or brownish back and silvery sides. A dark diagonal stripe extends upward from its eyes. It looks similar to the amberjack but has proportionately larger eyes and a deeper body profile.

Habitat:
Lesser amberjack can be found nearshore and offshore. They are usually found in deeper waters (180-410 feet) than the other Seriola. These fish swim to offshore waters to spawn.

Florida locations:
Lesser amberjacks are seldom encountered by anglers, and are relatively unknown to them. They are found nearshore and offshore.
